To ANZA Members and Industry Friends

Re ~ Leonie Thorburn ~

I am sure that you will be sad to learn that ANZAs long serving Executive Assistant Leonie Thorburn died yesterday after a long fight with cancer.

Leonie was a very focused, diligent friendly member of the team and built up a huge number of supporters, not only with ANZA members but also with a very wide network of industry colleagues. She was with ANZA for nine years and kept on working through two years of failing health with a bright, cheerful spirit until she retired just a few months ago. I spoke to Leonie just last Thursday and it was apparent that her demise was imminent.

There will be a Memorial service for Leonie on Thursday, 3rd March commencing at 11:30am in the Memorial Gardens, Schnapper Rocks Road, Albany.

Leonie is survived by her daughters Rachael and Angela and their families.

I will be attending the service along with Lindsay and Isabelle plus Thomas from DSANZ who Leonie worked with for the same period of time that she was with ANZA.

I will be pleased to convey any of your messages to her family.

ANZA will make a donation to the Hospice in lieu of flowers.
