Grants available for women's leadership development

Encouraging gender equality in the ad sector.

When Kevin Roberts, then Chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi, said last year that the debate about gender bias was 'all over' and denied the lack of women in leadership roles was a problem, it raised a furore in the ad sector and forced the industry to look closely at itself.

Women in leadership

Cindy Gallop, former global boss of BBH and a vocal champion for diversity in the industry, said that Roberts is not alone in his views. In exploring the need for women's leadership development, Gallop talks about the levels of senior management that pay 'lip service' to diversity in the media but behind the scenes do much less than they say.

ANZA is pleased therefore to bring to your attention that Women & Leadership New Zealand (WLNZ) is administering a national initiative to support the development of female leaders across New Zealand's advertising and communications sectors.

The initiative is providing grants for women to enable participation in a range of leadership development programs.

The leadership development programs are part-time and delivered nationally via WLNZ's blended learning model. Scholarship funding is strictly limited and will be awarded based on a set of selection criteria being met.
